For the Fashionista, Soloist & Foodie
1. For the fashionista: One pair of shoes just won't do so take five. Pack two black pair - one flat, one fancy pump, one dark brown or black walking shoe, one bright colored attention getting pump and one with some sparkle. Pack them all in your checked luggage. To make space utilize the free carryon incentive and fill it with all your under garments and all of your shirts (very light weight to carry through the airport terminal). Voila! now when you get to where you are going you can feel fashionable with a little bling, a little color, some comfort and most importantly variety. Everyone knows that a true fashionista can't stand to look the same each and everyday!
2. For the soloist: If you find yourself traveling alone there are many safe and exciting groups you can join to occupy your time and allow you to meet other solo travelers. On websites like Rick Steves' Europe you can join the Graffiti Wall and put yourself in contact with people that will be in the same areas as you and team up for tours, meals and shopping sprees.
3. For the food critic: Before your trip Google search foods indicative of the area you are visiting. Be sure to checkout the most infamous restaurants and set your budget accordingly so that you can enjoy a new dish or beverage at least once a day during your stay- try not to repeat the same meal twice, you'll definitely miss out on something. Don't forget the "off the beaten path" mom & pop eateries that have been staples in the area for decades. They offer the typical, non tourist meals such as a hearty bowl of soup, delicious slice of pizza, hotdog or scoop of ice-cream.
